Foundation Inspection & Repair Experts
One of the worst situations a homeowner can face is a foundation that has:
- Bowing walls
- Vertical and horizontal foundation cracks (with and without water intrusion)
- Step cracking in cinder block foundations
- Cracked and Crumbling mortar
The sooner you identify these problems and contact us, the less expensive the repairs will be.
There are several major foundation repair approaches depending on the kind of foundation you have. Listed below are several types of foundations, problems, and repair methods:
Poured Concrete Foundation Repair
Vertical Cracks
The most common problem with poured concrete foundations is vertical cracking. These cracks are common in this foundation type and are rarely a cause for concern in terms of structural integrity. The more common issue is water seepage through the cracks. This can typically be repaired with a urethane crack injection or an exterior seal. Even if the cracks aren’t leaking currently it’s best to repair them before finishing the basement.
Horizontal cracks
Unlike vertical cracks, horizontal cracking in a poured concrete foundation should be evaluated immediately as they are a good indication of a major structural issue.
Block Foundation Repair
If your cinder block or CMU foundations has step or horizontal cracks this can be cause for concern, especially if bowing or bulging of the wall is present. Both of these issues should be looked at by a foundation expert or structural engineer.
Another concern with block foundations is discoloring of the block. This means water has infiltrated the interior of the block and is soaking into the block through capillary action. The repair for this typically consists of an internal PRS (French Drain) to drain the blockor exterior waterproofing.

Bowing Walls Repair
There are new methods available to repair bowing walls that don’t involve heavy equipment, messy concrete or any invasive measure. It uses a product called StablWall which is a system of carbon fiber sheets that strengthens basement walls and concrete structures. The StablWall System uses specially engineered epoxies that bond the carbon fibers to a concrete surface. When used, the walls become stronger than before, eliminating the threat of additional cracking or bowing. This solution is more permanent and economical than previous methods like steel beams.
